Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains what sludgineers.hunt-games.com does with visitor information. In short: this Sludgineers wiki does not ask you to create an account and does not sell data directly, but it does use Google Analytics and a third-party advertising network, both of which may set cookies. Details are below.

Who we are

sludgineers.hunt-games.com is an independent, unofficial guide and wiki for the game Sludgineers. It is not operated by Snickerdoodle Games, Funk Games or Gamersky Games. See about this wiki.

Information we collect

We do not collect personal information. This site has no user accounts, no registration, no comment system, no newsletter and no contact forms that store submissions. You can read every page on this Sludgineers wiki without providing anything about yourself.

Cookies and local storage

This site itself sets no cookies. It uses your browser's localStorage for exactly one thing: remembering whether you chose the light or dark theme with the toggle in the header. That value stays in your browser, is never transmitted to us, and can be cleared at any time through your browser's site-data settings.

Google Analytics and our advertising partner, described below, set their own cookies and similar identifiers to measure traffic and serve ads. We do not control those cookies directly; see the “Analytics and advertising” section for what they do and how to opt out.

Server logs

This site is served through Cloudflare. Like essentially all web hosting, the platform records standard request logs — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent, referrer — for delivery, security and abuse prevention. We do not use these logs to build profiles of individual visitors. Cloudflare's own data practices are governed by its privacy policy.

Third-party content

Some pages embed or load content from third parties. Each has its own privacy practices, which we do not control:

Third partyWhat it servesNote
Steam (Valve)Official Sludgineers screenshots and gameplay clips, served from Steam's CDNLoading an image sends a standard request to Valve's servers
YouTube (Google)The official Sludgineers trailerEmbedded via youtube-nocookie.com to reduce tracking on page load

Google AnalyticsTraffic measurement (pageviews, referrers, approximate location, device type)Uses cookies and similar identifiers; see below

Outbound links to Steam, itch.io, Discord, YouTube and the developers' sites take you to services with their own policies. None of our outbound links are affiliate links and none earn this site money.

Analytics and advertising

This Sludgineers wiki uses Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages are read, and roughly where visitors come from. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies and may collect your IP address, browser and device information, and pages viewed. This data is processed by Google under its own privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

This site also runs third-party display advertising to help cover hosting costs. The advertising network may use cookies, device identifiers or similar technologies to select and measure ads, and its practices are governed by its own privacy policy rather than ours. We do not pass any personal information to the ad network ourselves, and we do not control what the ad network itself collects from your browser.

Children

This site is a general-audience game guide and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Your choices

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with an updated date. Material changes — for example introducing analytics or advertising — will be described rather than silently applied.

Legal bases and your rights

This Sludgineers wiki does not itself collect personal data or operate accounts, so most data-protection rights — access, rectification, erasure, portability — have nothing on our side to act on: we hold no record of you to produce, correct or delete. Data collected via Google Analytics or the advertising network is held by those third parties, and requests concerning it should be made to Google or the ad network directly, using the opt-out links above and their own privacy policies.

If you are in a jurisdiction with specific data-protection legislation such as the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR, or the California Consumer Privacy Act: we do not sell personal information ourselves, but our analytics and advertising partners may process data such as your IP address and device information under their own capacity as independent controllers or processors. Should you wish to raise a concern, use the contact route on the about page.

Data retention

We retain nothing ourselves, because we store nothing beyond the theme preference in your own browser. Platform-level request logs are retained by Cloudflare according to its own retention schedule, and analytics and advertising data are retained by Google and the ad network according to their own retention schedules, none of which we control. The theme preference stored in your own browser persists until you clear your site data.

International transfers

This site is delivered through a global content delivery network, so the page you are reading may be served from an edge location near you rather than from a single origin server. Media assets are fetched from Valve's and Google's networks, which operate internationally. No personal data is transferred by us, because none is collected by us.

Security

This Sludgineers wiki is served over HTTPS with standard security headers, including content-type sniffing protection, a referrer policy limiting what is passed to external sites, and frame-embedding restrictions. As a static site with no database, no login system and no user submissions, its attack surface is intentionally minimal.
