All Sludgineers Regions and Jobs
Sludgineers jobs are hand-built pixel-art scenes across a countryside overworld map. Each has a four-tier cash milestone bar, and those tiers escalate steeply between regions — from $400 at the top tier of an early forest job to $8,525 on a late coastal job. The full release added a new larger map with bigger levels over the demo.

How the Sludgineers map works
Between jobs, Sludgineers shows the countryside as a connected overworld — roads, rivers, bridges, little settlements, and smiley-face markers on the jobs you have unlocked. Your van icon sits on the network, and your refinery complex dominates the middle. You pick a marker, you get dropped into that scene, you work, you come back.

Job environments observed
Sludgineers jobs are individually designed scenes rather than procedurally generated maps, and each carries its own scenery mix, object density and sludge coverage. These are the environments confirmed from screenshots:
| Environment | What's in it | Object density |
|---|---|---|
| Forest | Dense pine woodland, cabins, mine carts, rocky outcrops, streams | Moderate |
| Lakeside | Open water, wooden jetties, bridges, parked cars, a green-roofed building | Moderate |
| Town square | Shops with signage (SHOP, INN), paved plaza, street lamps, several parked cars | High |
| Autumn farm | Barn, orchard rows, fenced fields, a pickup truck, autumn foliage | Moderate–high |
| Coastal / beach | Palms, sand, beach huts, a Beach signpost, jetties | Moderate |
| Industrial | The fenced G-NERIC CORP site with solar panels, tanks, hazard signage | High |
Payout tiers by region
Every Sludgineers job has a Job Progress bar along the bottom with four cash milestones marked along it. Reading those tiers off screenshots at four different stages of a run shows how steeply the curve climbs:
| Job stage | Tier 1 | Tier 2 | Tier 3 | Tier 4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Early forest | $75 | $150 | $225 | $400 |
| Lakeside village | $250 | $500 | $750 | $1,250 |
| Autumn farm | $990 | $1,980 | $2,970 | $4,950 |
| Coastal / industrial | $1,785 | $3,410 | $5,115 | $8,525 |
That is a 21× increase in top-tier payout between the opening job and a late one. The strategic consequence is blunt: advancing to a new region raises your income far more than grinding the current one. Push forward until you hit a wall, then replay the previous region with upgraded gear to fund the gap.
Pollution types vary by region
Not all sludge is the same. Quests in Sludgineers target named materials — one observed objective asked to “Refine 35 barrels of Dracium Sludge” — which means the region you choose determines what lands in your barrels. The full release added additional pollution types over the demo, widening this considerably.
Later jobs also visibly contain more than one contaminant at once: coastal and industrial scenes show a green tool beam distinct from the purple vacuum stream, consistent with air purifiers handling something the vacuum does not. See sludge and refined resources.
Regions in the demo versus the full game
Steam's demo listing states the demo “limits available content including regions, levels, quests, and upgrades”. The launch announcement then confirms the full release added a new map with larger levels and more pollution types. Demo players see the early countryside; the later, denser, far higher-paying jobs are paid content.
Sludgineers FAQ
How many regions does Sludgineers have?
A complete verified count is still being compiled. Confirmed job environments include forest, lakeside, town square, autumn farm, coastal and industrial scenes, and the full release added a new larger map with bigger levels over the demo.
What is the best level to farm in Sludgineers?
The highest-tier job you can reliably clear. Payout milestones scale steeply — from a $400 top tier in an early forest job to $8,525 on a late coastal job — so advancing regions beats grinding old ones.
Can you replay Sludgineers levels?
Yes. The Job Complete screen has a REPLAY button and jobs can be repeated as often as you like, which is central to the money loop.
Are there different pollution types in Sludgineers?
Yes. Quests target named materials such as Dracium Sludge, and the full release added additional pollution types over the demo. Later jobs contain more than one contaminant at once.
